Local firm could be bringing more apartments
May 15, 2013 by Sarah
Woodfield Investments, an apartment development firm, might be constructing an additional 230 apartments to the Charlotte area in coming months.
The firm has been looking at a development site located next to the BB&T Ballpark with the possibility of constructing an apartment complex on the two-acre piece of land.
The land is located between West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Third Street and South Graham Street. An affiliate of Wells Fargo & Co. currently owns the property, which contains a large industrial building of 13,000 square feet in size. While it has been revealed that Woodfield Investments has put the property under contract, Chad Hagler, who is a partner of the firm, said that it is still early in the works and the development firm is still conducting plans and negotiations. He stated:
“We’re hopeful that we can move forward with it.”
As a number of new apartment complexes and condominiums move into the Charlotte area, new businesses could be attracted to the populated and busy area. New companies moving into the Charlotte area could create extra business for companies already located in the area, such as printing companies that would be called on for business card printing services required by new companies.
Preliminary plans for the apartment complex that may soon be constructed at the site include a single apartment building consisting of 297 units covering a four-story area. Two parking levels are also planned to be located underneath the unit levels.
