North Versailles gears up for Christmas

November 29, 2012 by

The holiday season has begun and most people are looking forward to celebrating with their friends and family. The children are getting excited about Santa Claus coming to town and everyone is ready for a party. A flyer, likely designed and created with the help of North Versailles printing companies, describes all the activities taking place in the area and will have no doubt been mailed out to residents.

The North Versailles Township Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and annual party will take place on December 8, beginning at 6:45 pm. The tree is located in front of the North Versailles Township Municipal Building. The lighting ceremony will be followed by the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus on a fire engine. The pair be greeting everyone and handing out treats.

The party will take place at the Community Center and is for North Versailles residents only. It will feature lots of food, an audio visual display from Gary Means called ‘Word-Music-Art’, and, of course, pictures with Santa Claus. It should be a fun time for the entire family. Guests must pre-register before December 3. For more information about both, call 412-823-6602.

In order to make the community look even more Christmassy, there is also a Christmas decoration contest taking place. Judging will start on December 5 and people must register before December 3. All residents are encouraged to decorate their houses to enter the contest, and those who register will be eligible for an award that will be presented during the Christmas party.
