High-tech celebration near Plainview

October 3, 2012 by

Plainview’s nearby neighbor, Huntington Village, welcomed a new business in the community last month. Work Market, a software firm, specializes in managing tasks that allow large, national companies to locate with nearby contractors and work alongside them.

Jeff Leventhal, founder of Work Market, and Eric Castro, vice president of client services, were both present for the celebration of the firm’s official opening in their new location at 14 Wall Street. Steve Rossetti, Suffolk Industrial Development Agency secretary, along with Anthony Manetta, the IDA’s executive director, were also in attendance and showed lots of enthusiasm for the opportunity for other similar companies being lured to Huntington. Manetta said:

“Supporting growth companies, such as Work Market through the Suffolk IDA’s new Boost program is vitally important to the County’s economy. We want to incentivize startups and established companies in the information technology, life & bio sciences, pharma, green technology and energy sectors to open, expand and grow here.”

Castro was just as excited. He remarked:

“There’s a lot of culture and entertainment here. We know that we can start attracting other people.”

For Work Market, being centered in an area that offers a great dining and entertainment scene is key to attracting skilled and creative software talent to their staff.

The local business community is also happy to welcome a newcomer to the area. Start-up companies such as Work Market bring new people to town and that translates into potential new customers, requiring everything from clothing to business card printing .

At present, Work Market employs 14 people and is keen to take on more with the necessary expertise in its target services.
