Summer-style festival takes over September

September 10, 2014 by

In East Rockaway, July 4th isn’t something that’s reserved for a single day; the Stars and Stripes Fall Festival is a celebration that lets the community come together an enjoy a festival atmosphere at the Talfour Boat Basin.

Guests are encouraged to bring out the whole family for all of the activities. Children in attendance will enjoy a variety of different activities, including a modeler making balloon animals, face painters, a magic show, and several other performances. There will also be rides that everyone in the family can enjoy. On one of the festival nights, there will be a fireworks display over the water.

Anyone feeling like a bite to eat can enjoy one of the two restaurants located in the area. There will also be vendors on hand, likely selling food, but also a variety of crafts and other wares.

Promoters for this event may turn to local printing companies to get the word out and draw in greater crowds through advertising. Handing out flyers in nearby areas like Lynbrook will no doubt make more people aware of the event.

The festival will take place on September 19 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm, then again on September 20 from 2:00 pm until 11:00 pm, and finally on September 21 from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The firework display will take place on the Saturday.
