Camden takes a family-friendly approach to New Year’s Eve

December 22, 2012 by

With many cities focusing their New Year’s Eve parties on being suitable for the entire family, one such event taking place in Camden is the New Year’s Eve Splash at the Adventure Aquarium.

First Night events, which do not allow alcohol, or parties that take place earlier in the evening are a way to spend the last night of the year with the kids and to introduce them to all the fun activities surrounding New Year’s Eve. This particular event will feature several characters such as Gill, the shark mascot, and Professor Reef. There will be family-friendly music, plenty of activities, animal encounters, and a countdown dance party.

The dance party will feature party hats, noisemakers and lots of confetti. Everyone who attends will also receive a free 4 x 6 photograph and every child aged 12 and under will receive a free plush toy. Those attending will also have a great view of the Philadelphia fireworks display, which will begin at dusk.

The event will likely draw people from all over the area including nearby Berlin. Organizers will also no doubt be working with local printing companies to advertise the event, with products such as flyers able to be distributed throughout the area inform people of the details and how to purchase tickets.

The New Year’s Eve Splash will take place at Adventure Aquarium on December 31 from 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for children aged 2 – 12. For more information, call 856-365-3300.
