East Haven’s Rotary Club has organized a fundraising event for the community that will give local bakers a chance to show off their creations to the world.
The organization will be hosting this year’s Anginette Wars, which will see cookies and other baked goods, as well as the table displays set up by the competitors, judged in an assortment of categories. Contestants can enter their creations to win Most Decorative Cookie, Best Tasting Cookie, and Most Creative Table Display.
Special guests will be engaged to judge the competition, and the public is invited to come out and cheer on their favorites. Appetizers will be served, and there will also be a raffle drawing for prizes, including two tickets to see the Yankees play. Guests will also be able to sample the cookies and vote for which ones they feel are the best. Graphic design can be utilized to craft certificates and other awards for the winners of an event such as this.
Tickets to attend as a spectator are $15 each. Monies raised through the event will be used to help support the Rotary Club in its community service efforts, such as its scholarship initiatives for local students, clothing drives, Thanksgiving Dinner delivery, and other programs.
This friendly baking competition will take place on April 6 in the St. Vincent De Paul Church Hall in East Haven. Additional details can be found on the community’s Patch event listing.
