Janesville strides towards a good cause
July 24, 2012 by James
The Sundown Dash 5K run will be off and running tomorrow, July 25, starting at Monterey Park in Janesville, Wisconsin. This event begins at 7:00 pm.
Formerly known as the ‘Twilight Run’, this event has now been renamed the Sundown Dash and starts out in the riverside location of Monterey Park. With a paved section and trail course that is suitable for people of all ages, runners will leave the Monterey Stadium on this course that will take them out and back to the same destination, covering approximately 26 miles in distance in the process. Needless to say, taking part will require some physical endurance.
Runners are encouraged to dress appropriately and wear a good set of shoes, as well as bringing sunscreen and hats. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated towards Chasing Chad, a foundation formed in December 2009 in recognition of local hospital patient Chad Borwell, who was fighting for his life with a brain tumor. Money donated will be used in the fight against brain tumors and used for brain cancer research. In 2011, Chasing Chad made record strides and held many successful runs and events, receiving its non-profit status at the end of that year. Donations to Chasing Chad are tax deductible.
Flyer printing and brochure printing may have been used to promote this event and encourage new runners ready to take the challenge of this tough but rewarding run. For more information about this run, where admission is free, please visit the Chasing Chad website.
