Cancer resource center to open in Lancaster

January 2, 2013 by

The fairfield Medical Center is opening a new cancer resource center in Lancaster. The new center will allow cancer patients the chance to learn more about the disease and share with others who are going through the same thing.

The grand opening for the new cancer resource center is scheduled to take place tomorrow, January 3, from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm at the center, which is located at 616 Forest Rose Avenue in Lancaster.

Patients who are dealing with cancer most likely appreciate the opportunity to talk with others who are dealing with the same illness. Cynthia Pearsall, who is the Chief Nursing Officer for the Fairfield Medical Center, stated:

“It can be a very foreign and very frightening time. It’s nice when they can partner with people who have been through it before.”

When organizations or other centers open a community, local print companies are likely to be called upon for a variety of services. Business card printing and stationery printing will no doubt be needed, as well as banner printing services.

The new cancer center will assist cancer patients with non-medical needs. Free counseling will be available to help patients understand and deal with the financial aspects of the disease, such as hospital bills or purchasing items needed to help them deal with the disease, such as wigs for those who lose their hair. Support groups will also be available for patients so that they can share with and learn from others who are going through the same thing. Family members of cancer patients are also welcome at the cancer resource center.
