Christmas lights the way this evening

December 8, 2012 by

The Christmas Light Tour is an annual event designed in the form of a road rally. On its way this evening, it enables guests to partake in the sounds and sights of the holiday season by passing by some of the most fantastic Christmas decorated homes in the suburbs. Guests do not have to have previous rally experience to participate.

Participants will observe hundreds of glittering sleighs, lit Santa Clauses, and smiling snowmen. As part of the fun, drivers of this great road rally will visit the displays, using imaginative directions, and be required to answer questions about what they are viewing. There are no complex instructions or rules and no rally gimmicks.

This event is designed as a fundraiser, with the proceeds and toys going to the ‘Toys for Tots’ program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. As part of this rally, there is a take-home trivia quiz about Christmas that will challenge the Christmas lovers in any family. There will be awards presented at the end of the rally and everybody must register before the event begins.

The Wheels Rallye Team most likely used flyer printing and poster printing to promote this exciting holiday event to people in this area. The cost is $10 plus a toy with a value over $15, or $25 without a toy. The Christmas Light Tour will take place tonight, December 8th, with registration at 6:00 pm at the Woodfield Mall Parking Lot located at 1751 E. Golf Road in Schaumburg, Illinois, just a short drive from Des Plaines. To learn more, please visit the Wheels Rallye Team website or call 847-446-2904.

Two very different Christmas celebrations to enjoy in Morton Grove

November 29, 2012 by

People of all ages enjoy the holidays and want to celebrate with their peers. There are usually a variety of activities and events suitable for people of every age and interest taking place across various communities in Illinois. Morton Grove is no exception and will have at least two very different Christmas celebrations this year. Local printing companies will no doubt be doing their utmost to letting the community know about those celebrations.

For most children, seeing and talking to Santa Claus is what they most look forward to about the holidays. Morton Grove children will get that chance this Sunday, December 2, when Santa Comes to Town in the Park District. He will be riding through town and handing out candy from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm, and some of the candy wrappers will offer a prize to the recipient. The prizes can then be redeemed at the Prairie View Community Center until 3:30 pm. Children will also have a chance to talk to Santa and show him their Christmas lists at the community center.

A completely different event will be the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s annual Holiday Party. It will take place at Giordano’s Restaurant on December 6 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and will be a chance for business peers to celebrate the year in business and the chamber itself. With good and a cash bar available, there will also be a wine raffle, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Admission is free. For more information, call 847-965-0330.
