Niche business to get a helping hand in McHenry

January 29, 2013 by

Next month’s ‘Life is a Journey Expo’ will give McHenry businesses the chance to make themselves known to the general public and to their local business peers. Events such as this go a long way in establishing a business and overcoming the sometimes difficult procedure of getting one off the ground.

The expo, which is being presented by the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, will be divided up into differently themed areas depending on the type of business exhibiting and selling its products. For example, there will be Senior Street for those who cater to the elderly market, Leisure Lane catering to those who are interested in recreation, the fairly self-explanatory Health and Fitness Fairway, a Children’s Court offering items of interest to parents and children, and Pet Parkway which will be selling anything and everything to do with pets.

Chamber members can rent a 10 x 8 booth at a price that suits them, either for $215, $235 with electricity, $245 on a corner, or $380 if located in the hallway. No doubt many of those McHenry businesses who are renting space will be working with local printing companies to prepare for the expo. For example, they might want to arrange for banner printing or sign printing services to help set their booth apart.

The Life is a Journey Expo will take place at McHenry High School, West Campus on February 16 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. For more information, call 815-385-4300.
