Guilt-free gifts presented in Deerfield
October 30, 2012 by Mark
This year’s Fair Trade Gift Boutique will take place at the Christ United Methodist Church, with all items to be sold at the boutique handcrafted by women in developing countries, who receive 100% of the proceeds from sales.
There will be an eclectic mix of items for sale including, jewelry, clothing, accessories, ornaments, and home decor. Those visiting will be sure to find the perfect gift for a friend or family member. They will definitely know that the items they do buy are unique and that their loved one will not have one already. It is also a great way to support those people in less prosperous countries to be able to generate money for their efforts.
Organizers of the event in Deerfield are no doubt looking into such services as flyer printing to get the word out to the community. Flyers are reasonably inexpensive and are a very effective form of advertising. They can be distributed in a number of ways, such as mail delivery, door-to-door delivery, handed out on the street, or distributed to various public buildings – making them ideal for use in preparation of events like this.
The fair trade movement works towards making sure that the manufacturers of product or handicraft receive a fair wage for their work. It is intended to help improve the lives of those in developing countries by giving them a way to make money, often from home.
The sale will be held on November 10-11 and admission is free. For more information, call 847-945-3040.
