Bluegrass Classic Stockdog event to get off and running

May 15, 2013 by

The Bluegrass Classic Stockdog Trial will be held once more in Lexington, Kentucky, starting today. Held consecutively for the last 52 years, the event comes to the Masterson Station Park.

For those who do not understand the specifics of a sheepdog trial, a free brochure explaining the rules will be available to all spectators. Not only will this packet contain the regulations, it also will provide information on the various dogs, show times, and vendors. Food, animal, and art vendors will set up tents within sight of the dogs, so shopping is an integral part of the experience.

One of the most well-loved breeds of dog, as well as the one likely to be seen the most here, is the Border collie. Known not only for their adorable looks, the Border collie has also established a reputation as a superior stockdog.

The Bluegrass Classic Stockdog Trial brings thrilling competition between the dogs and their owners, and the vendors will no doubt utilize the services of local print companies and brochure printers in preparing materials needed to market their specific goods. Banner printing is a common request in order for the vendors to depict the name of their products across the back of their booths or in front of the tables.

The work dogs may take the spotlight at this event, but attendees also interact with sheep, horses, trainers, and other dogs. In fact, attendees are encouraged to bring their pet dogs with them, and can visit the website for more information. It finishes on Sunday, May 19.
