Frieda’s Inc. to promote ‘The Year of Purple’
January 23, 2013 by Sarah
Frieda’s Inc., a specialty produce company based in Los Alamitos, is promoting its purple fruits and vegetables throughout the year with ‘The Year of Purple’ marketing campaign to celebrate the company’s 50th year.
Karen Caplan, president of Frieda’s Inc., stated:
“Purple has been Frieda’s company color for over 50 years. It’s the color people think of when they think of Frieda’s, so we thought we’d shout it from the rooftops. We’ve also noticed that purple is everywhere these days, from bridal dresses to Brussels sprouts and purple pies to floral centerpieces, so in celebration of our 50th year, we want to recognize this special color.”
Marketing and advertising materials from Frieda’s Inc. throughout the years will include information on the health benefits of certain purple fruits and vegetables as well as useful tips and other items of interest. Special promotions such as Frieda’s “The Year of Purple” campaign may use brochure printers, catalog printing, flyer printing, and other forms of advertising throughout the period of the promotion. Banner printing is also likely to be used for such marketing campaigns.
In addition to printed advertisements, Freida’s will be promoting the campaign via social networks such as Twitter, where The Year of Purple hashtag will keep consumers informed of current promotions and other marketing activities.
Special promotions for occasions such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day will feature the company’s purple produce. Fruits and vegetables that will be promoted include Sangria artichokes, Brussels sprouts, Moab Superfruit Blend, graffiti eggplant, and asparagus.
