The Colony rocks out for the boys in blue

May 31, 2017 by

Residents of The Colony are looking forward to coming out and supporting local public safety services at Back the Blue at Rock and Brews. The fundraiser raises community awareness while providing entertainment and food.

The event is sponsored by the Colony Citizens Police Alumni Association. The purpose of the organization is to help residents become more familiar with their local police and their operations and to help open up communication between police and the community in order to improve the relationship of the local citizenry and public safety officers.

The main idea of the event is to provide a space where officers and locals can meet, talk, and have some fun. Lots of local police will be stopping by Rock and Brews throughout the day for lunch and dinner. Also McGruff the Crime Dog will be present throughout the event. A portion of the proceeds goes to help the local police department. Limited edition T-shirts with a custom logo design for the event will also be sold for $25 apiece.

Back the Blue at Rock and Brews will be held on June 11 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm at Rock and Brews, located at 5351 Nebraska Furniture Mart Dr. There is no admission price for the event, but guests must purchase their own food from the restaurant. Anyone looking for more information should visit the website.
