The Colony lets out a bark at luau

August 28, 2016 by

Dog lovers in The Colony are jumping up and down in anticipation of the 11th Annual Bow-Wow Luau.

The event, sponsored by Hawaiian Falls Water Park, is a celebration of all things canine with watery fun for all.

The event has been a consistent attraction for everyone who loves doing activities with their furry best friends, drawing in people from as far away as Dallas and Austin. Owners are allowed to bring up to two dogs into the park, and they can participate in all the rides, swims, and attractions available. An additional area will be sectioned off where only dogs that weigh 35lb or less can romp and mingle, ensuring that even smaller dogs have their day.

On top of the rides and pools, the water park will have several dog-themed activities to liven up the day. Some swimming contests will be held with fun prizes for the top dog in each size category. A ton of fun games will also be organized, including some agility runs, relays, and Frisbee catching, along with many others. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to The Colony Animal Shelter Injured Animal Fund.

The Bow-Wow Luau will be held on September 18 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Hawaiian Falls Water Park, located at 4400 Paige Rd. Admission is $15 for the day. Ad specialties like season passes and free entry coupons are usable on the day, but do not provide any proceeds towards the animal shelter. Anyone interested in more info should contact the water park directly.
