Weekends of winter wonder await

November 24, 2012 by

The Home for the Holidays Festival features something for the entire family, including a fantastic display of traditional and non-traditional holiday lights, family activities, live entertainment, and a visit and photo session with the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus. It began last weekend and will continue every weekend right up until Christmas.

Now in its 32nd year, the festival is presented by the Wood Forest National Bank, the Spring Preservation League, and Planet Lincoln. This festival began back in 1980 and was designed to showcase the area’s businesses and merchants in the Old Town Spring area.

During this festival, there is live entertainment on many stages throughout the downtown core and most businesses and stores are decorated for the season. There are horse and carriage rides, festive exhibits, strolling performers, pony rides, interaction events with exotic animals, children’s games and activities, and a petting zoo. It features complimentary candy canes and balloons for everyone. Many local groups are performing on the stages and a stroll after dark viewing the downtown lights is simply amazing.

Poster printing and flyer printing were probably used to promote this traditional event to members of this community and the surrounding communities. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend any weekend during the holiday season.

The Home for the Holidays Festival gets underway at 10:00 am every weekend up until Sunday, December 23 in Historic Old Town Spring near Spring, Texas. For additional information, please visit the Home for the Holidays website.
