San Antonio residents have help staying well

San Antonio seniors have another ally to help them maintain their health. WellCare Health Plans, based in Tampa, Florida, has opened one of its Welcome Rooms at 742 NW Loop 410, Suite 117, in San Antonio, Texas. The new facility will assist seniors who are confused about Medicare coverage.
The Welcome Room is both a sales and information office, where seniors can go to find out about WellCare’s Medicare Advantage plans. Offered by many companies, they consist of insurance plans designed to supplement traditional Medicare.
WellCare located an office in San Antonio to help serve the estimated 236,000 seniors in the area who are eligible for Medicare. This brings the total to 14 Welcome Rooms located in New York, Connecticut, Texas, and Florida.
Texas State Senator Leticia Van de Putte, who represents District 26, which includes a large part of San Antonio, is glad WellCare has opened an office here, noting it will help seniors decide on their healthcare by providing them with vital information about their options and eligibility for the health-related programs. Van de Putte also said the opening was particularly important given the number of changes in health care laws under the Affordable Care Act.
WellCare is sure to want to make sure seniors know about the new office, so it could work with brochure printers to create a mailer giving the location, hours, and a list of services provided. It need not be complete, but it will give prospective buyers a starting point for discussion.
