Families to set up camp this weekend
September 20, 2012 by Mark
The ‘Outdoor Family Campout at Old Settlers Park’ is being brought back by the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department to provide family’s with some quality outdoor camping time, getting underway tomorrow evening. This is an excellent time to bond with the kids, enjoy time with partners, or just spend some much-needed hours with friends.
This outdoor camping experience will lead into Old Settlers Park’s ‘National Hunting and Fishing’ day. During this campout, guests will enjoy all kinds of educational activities and fun events in which the whole family can participate. Some of these activities include making delicious ice-cream, everyone’s favorite ‘s’mores’ cooking, some challenging rock climbing, and some educational geocaching.
Each person planning to attend this campout experience must register in advance, which can be done online. Registration will include two full meals, some instruction-based how-to classes, the use of equipment for demonstrations, and a T-shirt marking the event. After the campout, guests are invited to stay and enjoy ‘National Hunting and Fishing’ day as well.
Flyer printing and poster printing may have been the chosen method to advertise and promote this event to families and friends in the region. The cost for this campout is $10 per person and each person must register. This ‘Family Campout at Old Settlers Park’ occurs from 4:00 pm tomorrow, September 21, until 9:00 am on Saturday and will happen at Old Settlers Park, Lakeview Pavilion, in Round Rock, Texas. For more information, please visit the Round Rock Park and Recreation Department website or call Roger Heaney at 512-341-3361.
