Mansfield starts holiday season with Hometown Holidays

Mansfield is getting ready for the holidays. The town will be hosting its annual Hometown Holidays. The event will be three days of holiday festivities, including fun at City Hall, the Kiwanis Falalala 5 K, a musical, a parade and a tour of Mansfield’s finest homes.

To start things off, City Hall invites everyone to its Holiday Market. Kids can visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, slide down the Ice Slide, and play the Human Claw Game.

On Saturday, runners can participate in the Kiwanis Falalala 5K. At noon, the Music Place will be performing Elf Junior: the Musical. The Hometown Holiday Parade will march through Historic Downtown Mansfield during the afternoon. The parade will feature over 50 entries. There will be bands, floats, and marching units consisting of members of local schools, businesses and other groups. Parade participants will want to get their banner printing done soon. The route will begin and end in front of St. Jude Catholic Church.

On the last day, the Mansfield Women’s Club will be sponsoring a Tour of Homes.

The City Hall activities will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm December 2 around City Hall. Saturday, December 3 will be the date for the 5K, starting at 9:00 am, the musical at noon and the Parade at 2:30 pm. The Tour of Homes will be from 1 until 6 pm on Sunday, December 4th.
