All about the sand, set, and spike in Mansfield

March 7, 2017 by

Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a coed sand volleyball tournament in a few weeks. Anyone 16 years or older is invited to participate.

Teams of four (plus one alternate if desired) will be playing each other in a double elimination format. Those interested in team building or just looking for something for friends or colleagues to do together will be getting this information out to their businesses and organizations, hopefully in time for their monthly newsletter printing.

Teams must register either online at the Mansfield Parks and Recreation website under ‘Activities’, or by contacting the Mansfield Activity Center (MAC) at (817) 728-3680. Early registration will include a $30-per-team fee, although this will rise to $35. All registration must be done by March 17.

Those who go to the website to register for the tournament may want to look over that large list of activities that the Mansfield Parks and Recreation offers. The MAC actually has a winter adult volleyball league for the avid fan of the sport.

The tournament has been scheduled for March 25 at the Katherine Rose Memorial Park Pavilion #3, 303 N. Walnut Creek Drive in Mansfield. Competition will begin at 9:00 am. There will be a Captains’ Meeting at the Mansfield Activity Center 106 S. Wisteria St. on March 21 at 7:00 pm.
