Try a triathlon this month

June 6, 2013 by

Offering a way to enjoy a little exercise in a natural setting, the TollTag Triathlon in Lewisville is a family fun and fitness event with plenty of activities for children of all ages.

It takes the form of a sprint distance triathlon course and includes an 11-mile bike portion, a 500 meter open swim, and a 5K run. At the park in which the event is held, there is a skate and dog park and a choice of play equipment for the kiddies. Flyer printing and poster printing may have been used to spread the word about this event.

The fundraiser will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), which provides training of community volunteers that work on behalf of neglected and abused children. This should provide families with an opportunity to learn more about CASA, while also supporting a worthy cause.

Costs vary, so please check online. The TollTag Triathlon will be held on Sunday, June 16, beginning at 7:00 am at the Toyota of Lewisville Railway Park located at 1301 S. Railroad Street in Lewisville, Texas.

Prior to the triathlon, there will be a free clinic for beginners that will feature referee and coach, Aaron Patel, on June 15 at 1:00 pm. This will include a course review, race strategy discussion, transition tips, and a question-and-answer session. Those who pre-register receive 30 free coach consultation minutes with a Playtri Coach and a packet pickup. The schedule of events will be sent out to those who register a week in advance.
