Sing along to your Grease favorites

June 16, 2012 by

On Tuesday, June 19, the Grease Sing-Along will take place at the Deerbrook Movie Tavern 9630 Farm to Market on the 1960 Bypass Road W. in Humble, Texas, beginning at 7:30 pm. The event is being held to benefit the Venice High School Alumni Association.

Venice High School, better known as Rydell High School from the 1970s hit movie “Grease,” will be the site of this musical singing session where participants will join together to belt out the tunes made popular in this movie.

This is the second annual sing-along and those participating have the opportunity to win two pairs of Grease Sing-Along Tickets to attend the Hollywood Bowl Sing-along taking place in July, although participants must be present to win these tickets. The event also has raffles, food truckers (including the Kabob n Roll and The Surfer Taco), student-run booths, live music, activities, and photo opportunities with Gunther the Gondolier. Organizers are asking participants to wear dress in keeping with the period, such as poodle skirts and leather jackets, and to make sure they bring a lawn chair or blankets. Last year’s Grease Sing-Along marked the school’s centennial celebration. This is a rain or shine event, so guests are advised to dress appropriately and to bring hats, sunglass, and sunscreen or rain gear as needed.

This event is free for everyone and will make for a great family outing. Flyer printing may have been used to advertise the sing-along to students and their families. For more information, please visit the Venice High School website or call 281-446-6313.
