Pleasure Pier to open on Memorial Day weekend

May 14, 2012 by

Just an hour outside of Humble, Texas, Galveston’s Pleasure Pier will open this Memorial Day weekend. The newly-built pier is reminiscent of a similar one built on the island in the 1940s. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, Pleasure Pier features a full-service restaurant, plenty of midway games, a variety of shops, live entertainment, and 16 rides.

Visitors to the pier can enjoy the Bubba Gump seafood restaurant or take advantage of one of the rides, including the Iron Shark steel roller coaster. The Iron Shark measures 100 feet tall and hangs its riders over the water, offering quite a thrill. Other attractions on the pier include the Sky Shooter, the Texas Star Flyer, a 100-foot-tall Ferris wheel, a Ring of Fire, a swing ride, bumper cars, a swinging pirate ship, and a log flume given the name of “the Pirates Plunge”.

The pier is sure to attract thrill seekers, groups of young adults, and families who are looking for a fun day or evening out. If you are a business looking to reach this crowd, consider contacting your local print company to create custom printed flyers, brochures, business cards, or postcards that can be easily distributed around areas with heavy foot traffic. These areas may include the restaurant entrance, the lines outside of more popular rides, and areas where live entertainment is taking place. Your printed materials should include your company’s name and a website address, email address, or phone number where your readers can find out more information about your business, service offerings, or upcoming events.
