Via Colori Street Painting coming to Houston late this Fall
August 19, 2013 by Mark
The Houston Via Colori Street Painting Festival will brighten the streets and sidewalks of this popular Texas city in November. This two day festival showcases the artwork of over 200 artists and attracts nearly 30,000 visitors.
Live music, activities and food booths will be part of the festival fun. Proceeds from this event benefit the Center for Hearing and Speech. Vendor applications are available through the event website. Vendors may want to contact a local print company to order promotional services such as flyer or poster printing. Flyers can be handed out at an event or through the booth. Posters can be mounted in various areas to attract interest and enhance attendance.
Street painting squares are available on a limited basis and are reserved for artists and sponsors as received and confirmed. A choice of square sizes is available. Sponsor forms can be attained to guarantee placement upon payment. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Chalk, gloves, clean wipes, breakfast bites, lunch, water, and sunscreen will be provided by the festival organizers. Additional items need to be supplied by the participants.
The event begins at 10:00am on the 23rd in the Hermann Square at City Hall.
An Artist Reception will be held on November 13 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Center for Hearing and Speech offices on W. Dallas Street. The event provides an opportunity for artists to meet each other, enjoy food and beverages, listen to music, and win prizes. Information and rules for the event will be presented at the reception, as well.
