The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo kicked off this year with 255,000 attendees. For those who have not been to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, they’re missing out. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo features the best barbecue, music and the finest in Texan culture.

The Friday before the events at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo begin is termed as the “Go Texan Day” where everyone is encouraged to wear western wear in Houston.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is an event of big business as promotional advertisements, such as brochure printing and banner printing, do not go unnoticed. There are several awards that go towards the best posters, banners, magazines and promotional brochures.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo showcases the best barbecuers around and awards go out to those who know their stuff. This year’s winner is: Motley Que Crew as the “Overall Grand Champion.” In addition to several teams competing in the cook-off, citizens from Texas’ 62 counties also compete in the cook-off to determine which county has the best-tasting barbecue.

The music at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is unbelievable as well. Here, artists, such as Reba, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Martina McBride have played.

Coming out to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is never a dull moment. All enjoy the main attractions, but even the quieter ones, which include shopping, gardening exhibits and a wide array of other services and attractions.
