Popular convention returns to Houston

April 6, 2017 by

The Comicpalooza pop-culture convention is taking place in Houston over three days next month.

The convention is dedicated to science fiction, television, anime, comics and other popular culture. It features gaming opportunities, panel discussions, and a film festival.

One of the big draws of the convention is always the special guest stars who appear. This year will be no different. Among those who are confirmed are Felicia Day, Lance Hendriksen from ‘Aliens’, and Robert Englund and Ronnie Blakley from ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’.

Several of the guests will be participating in the panels. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase autographs and pose for photographs with most of the guests.

Another activity that is popular each year is the cosplay contest. Attendees come dressed up as their favorite characters.

There will also be a kids’ area and a Makers’ Space and NASA showcase. Another popular area of the convention will be the dealers’ room where attendees can purchase a wide variety of merchandise ,such as comic books.

To advertise events such as this, Houston poster printing firms are often asked to provide products.

Comicpalooza will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center from May 12 to 14. Three-day passes are available for $65 for adults or $15 for children, while daily tickets are $35 on Friday, $40 on Saturday, and $30 on Sunday.
