Houston Children’s Festival on the way this weekend
April 5, 2013 by James
Coming up this weekend is the 25th anniversary of a major fundraiser for Child Advocates, and one which Frommer’s Travel Guides recognizes as:
“…one of the world’s 300 unmissable events.”
The Houston Children’s Festival attracts over 50,000 attendees. Printing companies frequently assist event organizers in preparing needed materials to help market and manage efficiently. Banner printing is a key part of providing the proper signage to help provide directional guidance at large festivals.
The festival activities are divided into several sections using many stages, with over 300 family friendly activities available in total. Many celebrity performances are scheduled, including appearances from several stars from the Disney Channel’s children’s shows.
Young children will no doubt be excited to meet Dora The Explorer and Sid The Science Kid as they greet youngsters and offer their own entertainment. Many activities are planned for children including face painting, sports, rides, crafts, games, and giveaways. There will also be market vendors at the event offering food, arts, crafts, gifts, and other items.
Benefiting from proceeds from this event, Child Advocates is a local organization in Harris County providing services for abused and neglected children. To date, $4.5m dollars has been raised for the cause.
Visit the Houston Children’s Festival website for complete information and to purchase tickets. Advance ticket pricing online is slightly less expensive than at the gate, and group ticket pricing is available. It is scheduled for April 6 and 7 at Tranquility Park from 10:30 am until 6:30 pm both days.
