Freedom Over Texas to take place in Houston

June 22, 2013 by

Mayor Annise Parker’s Independence Day event, Freedom Over Texas, is set to light up the Houston Skyline next month, with a patriotic and much-anticipated celebration.

Many activities are planned, including a presentation of military vehicles and artifacts which will be hosted by all five branches of the USA military. On-site recruitment will also take place. Visitors will have the opportunity to donate to the Honoring our Troops (H.O.T.) program, and can send care packets to various military points overseas.

Budweiser will be in full force at the event, with a designated Bud Light Zone, which will feature the Bud Light MXT Vehicle, a beer garden, and the Texas Volleyball Championship Series Finals.

More than 25,000 sq ft of space at Walmart’s All-American Kids Zone will be used to house educational shows along with a Radio Disney Area. Southwest Airlines, another major player in the event, will be featuring historical aircraft, with a fly-over of bombers from the Lonestar Flight Museum taking place during the festival.

In addition to enjoying the patriotic spirit of the day, visitors will witness performances by headliners Sheryl Crow and Martina McBride. Lawn chairs and blankets will be in place allowing spectators to clap, dance and sing along to these iconic superstars in comfort.

Local printing companies generally assist with holiday events of this type by providing print services for materials such as banners, flyers, posters and signage. These services often prove to be an invaluable resource to event organizers.
