British songstress to perform in Houston

An international singing sensation is coming to Houston for an early Christmas concert. Lakewood Church will be hosting British singer Susan Boyle for a live performance later this month.

Boyle first found fame as a contestant on the UK talent show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ back in 2009. A video of her first performance on the show, featuring her singing the tragic song “I Dreamed a Dream’ from the hit musical ‘Les Misérables’, went viral overnight. Millions of viewers worldwide watched the performance online, and Boyle finished in second place in the competition a few weeks later. Since then, she has toured internationally, was nominated for several awards worldwide, and sold over 20 million albums. All four of her albums have been certified as multi-platinum.

The Lakewood Church performance will be the largest concert for Boyle in the United States. In addition to the large number of expected attendees, the event will also be live streamed on the church’s website. It will also be rebroadcast several weeks later on Daystar Television Network. Boyle will sing three songs from her forthcoming Christmas album, including an original composition that will be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming film ‘The Christmas Candle’. The film also features Boyle’s acting debut.

Print companies can create dynamic promotional materials that bring attention to events like this, as well as the venue. A glossy postcard promotion and flyer campaign could spread word through the community and provide pivotal information about the performance.

The performance is schedule for November 17, and Boyle will be performing during twice on that Sunday morning.
