Apache Corporation presents Tour de Houston in March
February 25, 2013 by James
Tour de Houston, the annual fundraising bike ride presented by Apache Corporation, will take place in just a few weeks’ time.
The mission this year is to raise funds via the 20, 45, or 70-mile ride to help park and green area reforestation projects in the region. Severe droughts and wildfires throughout Texas have caused critical issues in the parks and wildlife areas. The Houston Parks Board is working with the Tour de Houston group to provide resources to enhance the region.
The Mayor’s Office of Special Events has an objective to showcase neighborhoods in the city. Through the Tour de Houston ride, a new route is featured each year. The route is an approved training ride for BP MS 150. Sponsorships are available with complete brand exclusivity at start and finish lines, rest stops, and marketing materials.
Local printing companies typically participate in preparing materials needed to promote events of this nature. Banner printing is a common project as banners are used as directional guidance throughout the route. Poster printing is also a frequent order so that posters can be posted throughout the region announcing the event.
Registration on the day of the ride, March 17, will take place at Tranquility Park. All riders should be at the park no later than 7:15 am. The 70-mile ride will begin at 7:30 am, the 45 mile ride at 8:00 am, and the 20 mile at 8:30 am.
The City of Houston website has complete information and registration forms online. Registration is currently underway.
