Pets on the prowl next month

The Automobile Center at Fair Park in Dallas will be the site for all of the fun involved with the 2013 Holiday Pet Expo. Visitors from across the state, including Greenville and Georgetown, are expected to attend.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their dogs, birds, cats, lizards and other interesting yet friendly pets to the expo. Current proof of immunizations is required for entrance with an animal, and non-retractable leads must be used for animals on leash.

Shorty Rossi, star of ‘Pit Boss’ on Animal Planet, and his famous pit bull Hercules will make a special appearance. Live demonstrations for obedience training, agility, activism, and pet care will be presented throughout the day.

Approximately 165 exhibitors and rescue groups will be on hand to offer pet-friendly items, products, gifts, and advice. Frequently, the vendors at expos like this work with local printing companies for preparation of their materials needed for the event. Banner printing is a necessity as each booth generally has a banner placed on the back wall of the booth or hanging from the top for high visibility.

Other fun activities include a costume contest, talent contest, and prize giveaways. The highlight of the expo is the opportunity to give a pet a forever home through the Mega-Adoption event. This year, 300 pets are planned to be available to be adopted. Micro-chipping and immunizations will be provided as well.

The event takes place December 7 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and is free to attend. To find out more, call 800-977-3609.
