Georgetown Parks and Recreation has recently scheduled several new fall and winter activities for the community.
Lake Georgetown Family Adventure, scheduled for October 20 – 21, will include learning the basics for family outings and camping. The recreation center will provide tents, sleeping bags, and ground pads. Optional activities will also be available, such as rappelling, kayaking, and hiking at night. Supplies for these activities will also be provided, along with meals.
On November 16-18, the Lost Maples Fall Family Camping adventure will take place. The outing offers a great opportunity to enjoy the seasonal changes as camping takes place in Lost Maples State Park. All camping gear will be provided by the recreation department, along with meals on Saturday and a breakfast bright and early on Sunday.
Moving further on in the year, ‘Geocaching’ is booked for December 8 at San Gabriel Park. This activity offers an opportunity to learn what geocaching is, as well as how to utilize maps and GPS devices while the hunt is on for hidden caches. The Georgetown Parks and Recreation will provide the maps and GPS devices. The outing departs at 1:00 pm and returns at approximately 4:00 pm.
Printing companies frequently work closely with community and civic entities in providing services such as poster printing. Posters serve as an effective tool in advertising an upcoming event, being economical to produce, easily transported, and displayable from practically any flat service. They also can be given out from strategic outlets to help promote involvement.
