Texas company sponsors Swim Across America Dallas

On June 8 this year, the Swim Across America open water even, sponsored by the Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Owners’ Association for the second year running, pledged to raise a minimum of $25,000. The proceeds of the Dallas event are earmarked for the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center, which is located in the city.

Prior to the event taking place, donation flags were sold in over 130 7-Eleven franchise owned stores across Dallas and Dallas Fort Worth. The Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Owners’ Association was a title sponsor of the swimming event and hopes to match the total funds raised last year, which was $30,000. The Association’s president, Bob Price, said that even though the minimum target was $25,000, they hoped to raise above and beyond this amount, and that he and his fellow members were proud to be involved in the worthy cause. Each store taking part and selling donation flags would possibly have used the flyer printing services of a local print company to make customers aware of the swimming event and the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center. The money raised will be used by the Innovative Clinical Trials Center.

The co-chair of the swimming event, Andrea Dickson spoke of her delight at the Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Owners’ Association taking part yet again and raising awareness among the community. The amount raised will contribute towards making the life of those fighting cancer a little bit more bearable, with all donations going towards the prevention, treatment and research of cancer.
