Prestigious runner to take part in Dallas Half Marathon

November 25, 2013 by

Sara Hall, who is the U.S. Cross Country Champion of 2012, has announced that she will be taking part in one of the largest running marathons in Dallas in a couple of weeks. The MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon is taking place for its 44th year.

Hall took part in another half marathon earlier this year, the Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon. She finished first, setting a new course record and beating her own personal best. When asked about the Dallas Half Marathon, Hall commented that it was considered one of the best running events in Texas and she was looking forward to running it.

Hall, who comes from Santa Rosa in California, has an impressive list of achievements, being finalist in the Olympic Trials on three occasions and a gold medalist in the Pan American games, along with the national title she collected last year.

Sara and Ryan Hall are founders of the Hall Steps Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides funding for running programs and mentoring for vulnerable youth. Ryan is a U.S. Olympian and elite American marathoner. According to the president of the Dallas Marathon, Patrick Byerly, the organization is happy to have Sara taking part in the marathon, acknowledging that she will bring the best out of the other runners.

Although the Dallas Marathon is a popular event, promotion will probably still be required, along with directions for the race route. Organizers might outsource this to a print company in time for the December 8 race.
