Plans announced for Dallas Dream hotel within two years

News of a new hotel to be built in Dallas has been released this month. Construction on the Dream Dallas Hotel is expected to commence January 2014 and will see a hotel with 16 stories built in Uptown.

The new hotel will be located within one mile of established luxury hotels Hotel ZaZa and the Rosewood Mansion. McKinney Avenue is the chosen location and the brand owner, Hampshire Hotels & Resorts, will announce the expected opening date as March or April 2015.

Hampshire Hotels, based in New York, will partner with investors in Dallas to build the $50m hotel. Brendan McNamara of Hampshire Hotels said that a proposal was received from the investors for the two groups to collaborate on the project, with talks starting in June this year. According to McNamara, the area already has successful hotels, which indicates that there is a market in that location. He added that Dallas potentially has a huge market for growth. Although McNamara is expecting to lure travelers to the Uptown area, he also acknowledges that they will take some of the custom from neighboring hotels, as competition becomes fierce.

Some of the hotels may increase orders for local printing services as they amend existing marketing campaigns. McNamara expects that the new hotel will be welcoming its own customers too. The hotel guest rooms will be from the eighth floor upwards, with the seventh floor housing a pool deck to provide downtown skyline views.
