The Children’s Medical Center in Dallas has been ranked in the Top 20 list of best children’s hospitals in the U.S.

The Parents magazine list of best hospitals was recently released, with two of the Top 20 hospitals being in Texas. According to the list, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was voted in first position, while in seventh place was Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

The Parents magazine list is compiled using data obtained from 66 children’s hospitals in the U.S. From 1,000 items of information, the magazine looks at the routine care which is given, treatments which use the latest technology, and programs introduced to make it easier for children in hospital. The magazine bases the ranking of children’s hospitals on this information.

The hospitals which appear on the Top 20 list may utilize local brochure printers to include this information in their prospectuses, so that parents who find themselves needing care for their children can make an informed choice.

The Children’s Medical Center in Dallas was selected for its work on the child life program. This provides crucial support for children who are ill and their families, running all day until midnight. There were several reasons for the choice of the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, including the best nursing care and a high survival rate for patients undergoing complex heart surgery. The Parents magazine aims to help parents of sick children to make informed choices when looking for a hospital, all of which are based on facts.
