Cedar Park makes top five in U.S. places to live

Cedar Park has been placed at number five on a list of places people most wanted to live in the U.S.

The study, released at the end of last month, was carried out by Movoto, a real estate broker. Leander was ranked in eighth place as one of the safest cities in Texas to live, reported in a study conducted by SafeWise, a security company.

Security officers and the community leaders in both locations are pleased at the survey results. The Mayor of Cedar Park, Matt Powell, spoke of the efforts made by the city to draw in more entertainment venues, parks, restaurants and stores to the area. He added that just 10 years ago, residents had to look for those amenities in Austin.

The new businesses have created more jobs for the area, which is continuing, according to Powell. The Mayor added that Leander had benefited from the spending on the fire and police departments, making citizens feel safe. Although Cedar Park is the fourth fastest growing city nationally, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Powell believes it has maintained the feel of a small town, encouraging greater interaction between law enforcement officers and citizens.

The findings of the surveys will possibly be used in any materials produced in association with the city, perhaps including the prospectus of local schools, or by employers keen to encourage job applicants. Local brochure printers may be used to keep costs as low as possible, while benefiting from knowledge of the local area held by printers.
