Arena in Cedar Park achieves success

The Cedar Park Center, Texas, is celebrating success in its third year as it continues to draw crowds to a variety of events throughout the year.

This month, the Cedar Park Center will celebrate its third birthday and its success. The arena is the home of the Texas Stars ice hockey team that plays in the American Hockey League, and also the Austin Toros basketball team – champions of the NBA Development League in 2011-12.

The Toros moved their home from the Austin Convention Center to settle at the Cedar Park Centre arena in 2010. Since that time, attendance at games has increased to an average of 2,800, which is a 43% increase. The arena plays host to numerous other events including Disney on Ice, Cirque du Soleil, rock bands, country music, and concerts. The venue will presumably draw huge crowds with the help of effective promotion, perhaps using local flyer printing services to give details of upcoming shows and events.

In 2009, when the venue opened, the average number of events was 100 and has now risen to 130 in 2012. The Mayor of Cedar Park Matt Powell said that he was pleased that the building had turned into a success story.

Events coming up this month at the venue include ‘Hillsong’ and Eric Church’s ‘Blood, Sweat & Beers’ tour, while the Stars next face off on October 14 versus Charlotte Checkers. Officials at the arena are looking at booking more events when it is off-peak season.
