The yearly Spring Showcase of the Allen High School Tallenettes is to be performed in the newly built AHS Performing Arts Center. The annual event will be held on May 18th and 19th, directed by Lisa Smentek. Over 70 dancers will perform dances which have been choreographed by professionals, traditional routines and also a number of farewell dances from seniors who are graduating in 2012. The costumes have been elaborately designed, with the stage sets providing a stunning backdrop to the dancers.

More than two hours of entertainment which emulates Broadway will suit audience members of any age.

Lisa Smentek is especially proud of the dancers, stating that a number of the seniors graduate and move on to professional companies like Texas Tech Pom Squad, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and Kilgore College Rangerettes. Smentek said:

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to entertain our community in our new state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center. Hundreds of hours have been devoted to making our 2012 Spring Showcase an unforgettable experience. These dancers have incredible talent and make me very proud each year.”

Tickets will be on sale from May 1st either online or at the Allen High School box office before the show commences. The school may also utilise the services of a local printing company for poster or flyer printing to promote the event. The production is possible thanks to the combined efforts of the team of 72 members, the performing arts department, parents who have volunteered and many more.
