Tucson Salvation Army in desperate need of donations

Every year, the Tucson Salvation Army serves an Easter breakfast to the needy. This year, the charity has a large need for donations from the community.

The breakfast is just three weeks away and the Salvation Army has yet to receive any donations. It is in need of pre-cooked sliced hams, eggs, and sweet rolls to serve during the meal. The charity would also appreciate donations of orange juice, butter and milk, and individual salt and pepper packets.

Ashley Lueders, the public relations director for the Tucson Salvation Army, noted that people are in need all year round. She is hopeful that the community will band together for the Easter holiday and donate the items needed for the breakfast.

The charity could also make use of Tucson printing services to spread the news of the breakfast and to ask people for support. Postcards and flyers could be given out at events or around the city, listing the donations needed and telling people where to donate.

Donations of food can be brought directly to the Salvation Army’s Hospitality House, at 1021 N. 11th Avenue in Tucson. The charity also gladly accepts financial donations. Monetary donations can be mailed to the charity at 1001 N. Richey Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716. To let the charity know the money is earmarked for the holiday, people should label the envelope and the check ‘Easter’.

The breakfast is scheduled to take place at 8:00 am on Easter Sunday, March 30, at the Hospitality House’s West Lot.
