September 19, 2013 by Max
The Tucson Metro Chamber is preparing to honor a number of local small businesses at an annual dinner gala. In just over one week’s time, the 2013 Copper Cactus awards ceremony will be taking place at the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa. The organizers of this special event may have hired a printing company to prepare programs and menus for the occasion.
Area residents submitted their nominations for the top Tucson-based companies to the Metro Chamber over the summer. The civic organization has selected nearly 50 businesses as finalists. During the ceremony, it will reveal its pick for the best place to work, as well as which organizations it found to be the most innovative, community service-oriented, and impressive in terms of growth. It will also announce its choice for Small Business Leader of the Year.
Businesses up for awards this year include Body Central Physical Therapy, Miramonte Homes, Horizon Moving Systems, and GLHN Architects and Engineers. To be eligible for an award, a company must employ a maximum of 250 workers and be a for-profit organization. It must also have been in business for a minimum of two years.
Wells Fargo Bank will serve as the main sponsor for this event. Other sponsors will include Blue Cross Blue Shield of arizona and the Casino del Sol Resort.
The festivities will take place on Friday, September 27 at 3800 East Sunrise Drive. They will begin at 5:00 pm with a cocktail reception. Dinner will follow at 6:00 pm, along with the awards presentation.
