Tempe residents to celebrate Labor Day at nearby olive mill

August 20, 2013 by

Tempe residents are invited to spend part of their Labor Day weekend at one of arizona’s most unique establishments. In commemoration of the end-of-summer holiday, the Queen Creek Olive Mill will be open for a special barbecue. The venue may be using the services of professional brochure printers to ensure that it is well-stocked with informational materials for the visitor tours it plans to host during the afternoon.

The Olive Mill, which is home to an Italian-style restaurant, will be offering Tuscan grilled chicken in addition to items from its everyday menu. Attendees will also be able to sample wines, draft beers, and iced lattes. Gelato, a soft ice cream that is a favorite in Europe, will be available for dessert.

Visitors will be welcome to explore the grounds of the Olive Mill, which is the only working olive production facility in Arizona. Tour guides will be on hand to point out interesting facts and answer questions about the company’s history and logistics.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to peruse the market on the mill grounds and purchase olive oil, stuffed olives, Balsamic vinegars, and other specialty foods that have been locally produced.

This will be the mill’s fifth annual Labor Day Celebration. Although the dining, tours, and marketplace shopping will wrap up at approximately 3:00pm, the fun will continue into the evening with live musical entertainment from the Rocket 88s.

Labor Day is on Monday, September 2. The Queen Creek Olive Mill, which is located at 25062 South Meridian Road, will open at 11:00am for the festivities.
