Global Village Festival tots up 10 years
April 4, 2014 by Mark
In a week’s time, Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center will be giving Gilbert residents good reason to get outdoors to enjoy the good weather and socialize with friends. It will be time for the 10th Annual Global Village Festival; a culturally rich event that typically attracts over 4,000 visitors.
Community members, non-profits, schools, and service groups are all invited to be a part of this multi-cultural festival, the mission of which is:
“…to create opportunities for individuals and communities to celebrate, share and sustain the arts and the rich cultural traditions of countries from around the world.”
All ages are welcome, as there will be something for everybody. From children’s activities, cultural information kiosks, and ethnic food booths, to the World Market where retail and international gifts will be available.
Also, dance and music groups representing both traditional and modern ethnic cultures will be presenting 20 to 30-minute performances throughout the event. The Parade of Nations will start at 3:00 pm. Sponsors must get their information in before any banner printing can be done to insure logos and names will be included on the Downtown Gilbert banner, as well as event signage banners that visitors may want to display.
The Festival will be held April 12, from noon to 6:00 pm, at Gilbert Civic Center North Campus lawn.
