Time for the feathers to fly in Chandler, Arizona

The popular Chamber of Commerce’s Chandler Ostrich Festival is all set to take place from Friday, March 19th to Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Chandler’s Tumbleweed Park located at the intersection of Germann and McQueen Streets. The address for this park is 2250 S. McQueen Road, so just take the Loop 222 exit off San Tan Freeway. The festival runs Friday from 2 pm to 9 pm, Saturday from 10 am to midnight, and Sunday from 10am to 11 pm. The poster printing has been completed and posters can be found throughout the community.

This festival is a celebration of the history of ostrich ranching in the area. This event is produced in co-operation with the city of Chandler commencing with a grand opening parade. There will be ostrich races, a monkey and reptile show, an exotic petting zoo for the children, races using pigs, and an assortment of variety, adventure, and magic shows that promise to entertain young and old.

Besides the great entertainment listed above, you will also find live entertainment taking to the various stages, a full midway ride area, and spectacular food vendors offering up the local favorites, all made from ostrich. If you wanted to you can even paint an ostrich egg, if you have the talent or desire. And if you are looking for gifts, crafts, or collectibles this is the show for you. Ticket prices for this event are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, and children under 4 get in free. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office, Fry’s, or at the gate. Admission includes all the events and parking for this event is only $5.
