Downtown Chandler to give the ‘chill out’ factor
May 9, 2013 by Sarah
Chandler area residents are invited to celebrate the beginning of summer at a family-friendly event.
In about three weeks’ time, the city’s Downtown Community Partnership will be holding its first-ever ‘Chandler Chill Out’. The services of a printing company are likely being used to create posters and banners for the occasion.
The Chill Out will coincide with the end of the public school year. It will feature plenty of entertainment for children, including inflatable water slides and a trackless train. Kids will also have a chance to participate in a variety of games, enjoy live music, and enter raffles to win prizes. Parents will be welcome to join in on all of the fun.
Vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts, as well as food and drinks. Attendees will be able to purchase kettle corn, hot dogs, and other traditional snacks. They will also have their choice of desserts, including ice cream and snow cones.
Members of the Chandler Fire Department will be present to answer questions about firefighting. They will arrive in one of their trucks, which children and adults alike will have the opportunity to explore. The event will also include a booth focused on water safety.
The Chandler Chill Out will take place on Saturday, June 1 at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park (3 South arizona Avenue). It will run from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm and there will be no charge for admission. Those who would like additional information may call (480) 855-3539.
