Chandler restaurant to host community clothing swap
August 7, 2013 by Mark
Chandler residents are invited to usher in the fall season by cleaning out their existing wardrobes and exchanging gently-used apparel with other members of the community.
Toward the end of the month, Floridino’s Pizza and Pasta will become the site of a clothing swap called ‘The Trendy Trade’. Poster printing may be on the increase as the organizers of this local meet-up post advertisements for it around the area.
Every attendee will need to bring at least five accessories or pieces of clothing to participate. Common items will include belts, hats, purses, pants, shirts, and dresses. All of these will be judged for quality before they can be admitted into the swap. Any item that has recently been laundered, is unfrayed and free of stains, and is considered to be relatively fashionable will be eligible for trade.
When deciding which items they should take to the swap, prospective participants should focus on clothing that no longer fits them, outfits that they have not worn in more than a year, and pieces that they would consider offering to a friend or relative.
Any items that do not get traded during the event will be donated to charity or held until another swap takes place.
The Trendy Trade is set for Saturday, August 24 and will run from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Tickets will cost $20 if purchased beforehand and $23 if purchased on the evening of the event.
Floridino’s is located at 590 North Alma School Road. Attendees will be welcome to enjoy a meal at the restaurant before or after the swap.
