Festival in Casa Grande to harvest family fun

November 1, 2013 by

An organization in downtown Casa Grande is preparing to host an autumn-themed event that will offer entertainment for the entire family.

Next week, the city’s Main Street Program will be presenting the 2013 Harvest Fair. A printing company may have overseen the poster, banner, and flyer printing needed in the weeks leading up to this community festival.

The gathering is scheduled as part of Casa Grande’s ‘Downtown Street Scene’ series, which began this year and offers monthly social activities for area residents from October through May. This month’s event will include live entertainment from local musical artists, and will also feature a showing of classic cars. In addition, a number of artisans from the area will be setting up booths and selling handmade goods.

Although Halloween has now been and gone, young attendees will still enjoy strolling through a pumpkin patch and grabbing their favorite choices from the crop. Adults will be able to sample locally-produced wines and participate in a square dance.

A number of downtown establishments will be open for business during the festival, including Feli’s Cuban Kitchen, BeDillon’s Restaurant, The Big House, and Cook E Jar.

The Harvest Fair is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, November 5 and will run from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm. It will be centered just off Florence Street at ‘The Alley,’ which is located between Second Street and Fourth Street. There will be no fee for admission.
