Casa Grande food-tasting event to benefit charity

October 2, 2013 by

The owners and operators of a number of Casa Grande eateries are preparing to join forces for a good cause later this month, as the Taste of Casa Grande event returns to the city for the benefit of a local non-profit organization and the enjoyment of the public. Print companies may be seeing an increase in orders as the businesses involved in this local tradition request posters, flyers, and paper menus.

The festivities will take place at Eva’s Fine Mexican Food, where a variety of eating venues from the community will be setting up booths. This year’s participating parties will include the Olive Garden, Little Texas Restaurant, Tom’s BBQ, and Rico Donuts. Attendees will be able to sample dishes from as many establishments as they like.

Taste of Casa Grande usually attracts several hundred visitors and has been held at a range of host restaurants over the years. It has been a sell-out event several times since its debut as a cocktail party in 1986. A planning committee and a group of volunteers have been hard at work to ensure that 2013’s gathering is a success.

Proceeds from the occasion will go toward Against Abuse, Inc.; a charity headquartered in town providing shelter and other forms of assistance for women and children.

Taste of Casa Grande is scheduled for Sunday, October 20 and will be open from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Tickets will cost $40 per person. Prospective attendees may call (520) 836-1239 to make reservations.
