Casa Grande announces upcoming holiday events

December 1, 2016 by

The holidays are getting close, and Casa Grande recently announced its plans for the annual Winter Wonderland and the Electric Light Parade.

The parade, which is in its 22nd year, is arguably the year’s most popular event in the area, and is part of an entire day of festivities.

The fun starts with family-friendly activities in the city’s downtown, including game booths, music, food vendors, a craft area, and a skating rink, all of which are free. Children can have photos taken with Santa at Herbalicious, and Casa Grande Main Street will provide live entertainment, including dance groups and local musicians.

The parade starts from Colorado Street and Florence Boulevard, and winds up at City Hall, where a tree lighting ceremony will take place. Everyone is invited to go online to vote for the float they like best. The winner will be given the People’s Choice Award, and will also be recognized by members of the city council at an upcoming meeting.

The events take place this Saturday, December 3, with activities taking place from 12.30 pm until 5.00 pm. Children’s photos with Santa are scheduled from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, and the parade starts at 5:45 pm. The tree lighting is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm, and the streets will be closed from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Events like these can be enhanced if organizers work with banners, which add color and excitement to any scene.
