Annual dinner to help out Casa Grande youth
August 7, 2013 by Sarah
Staff from the Casa Grande Boys and Girls Club are preparing to welcome local philanthropists and other supporters from the general community to an annual fundraising dinner at the city’s Property Conference Center. A printing company is likely creating promotional flyers for the gala, which is set to take place in less than two weeks’ time.
This year’s event will have a ‘Magic Island’ theme. Attendees can expect to enjoy Hawaiian-style food and music, as well as participate in beach-themed activities and games. At last year’s dinner, guests immersed themselves in the spirit of the Summer Olympics as they sampled international foods and virtually competed in rounds of basketball, golf, and other sports on Wii.
The dinner will recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the Casa Grande chapter of the Boys and Girls Club. There will also be an award for the party that has been named Benefactor of the Year. In the past, the City of Casa Grande and the Casa Grande Elementary School District have received this honor.
The Boys and Girls Club, which provides athletic and arts-related programs for youth, has now been a positive influence in the Casa Grande Valley for 16 years. Attendees raised nearly $20,000 for the organization at the 2012 gala. This year’s event is expected to attract even more public support.
The dinner is scheduled for Saturday, August 17 at 6:00 pm. The Property Conference Center is located at 1251 West Gila Bend Highway. Those seeking further details may call (520) 876-5437.
